Statement by the Artist |
I use the dynamics of acrylic paint for its ability to dry quickly. This enables me to capture immediate emotions or moods, and to build up layers of paint without the waiting lost to oils. My illustrations are a pure mixture of pen, and watercolor inks.
I create art because it is who I am. I am inspired to represent ordinary people, musicians, and each of our every days in a forum of visual interpretation. When I paint a woman in contemplation, I hope the audience can feel her thoughts through my brush's stroke, or the colors I choose. My emblematic swirl is added to each piece as a unifying acknowledgment of life. Borrowing rich tones, I add a classical style to contemporary impressionism. I aspire to reach further artistic achievements with a notable and honest craft.
